Aims, Skills and Learning Outcomes

ASLO1. Provide students with the concepts and some instruments of theoretical-practical analysis on the management of for profit and nonprofit organizations.
ASLO2. Contribute to a higher competence in the analysis of problems, and in the decision-making of professionals, with current or future responsibilities in the management of services for the elderly, to be able to contribute to the planning, and strategic and financial management, of organizations and projects.
ASLO3. Promote the understanding and usage of the most common planning and management tools to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and social responsibility of organizations.

By exposing and debating the managerial aspects of organizations and the dimensions of planning and strategy, ASLO 1 is being met.
By exposing and debating the analysis of investment projects and the notions of accounting and financial analysis, ASLO 3 is being complied with.
The totality of the topics listed in the syllabus contributes to the fulfillment of ASLO 2.

Given the theoretical-practical nature of this curricular unit, the expository method is considered adequate for the explanation of the proposed concepts, while the critical debate appeals to the more practical side of the UC, putting into perspective the theoretical concepts with case studies and professional experiences of the students.
