Missão:

The main function of the Data Protection Office of the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior de Serviço Social, CRL is to control the compliance of the Cooperative of Higher Education of Social Work and the Higher Institute of Social Work of Porto with the applicable legislation regarding the protection of personal data. The head of this unit is, inherently, the Data Protection Officer of the Cooperative of Higher Education of Social Service, who is responsible for supervising the exercise of the above-mentioned competences, as well as the performance of all the functions and duties entrusted to him/her by the applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.
Description: Data Protection is responsible for:

  1. Assess the compliance of the activities and procedures of the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior de Serviço Social and the Instituto Superior de Serviço Social do Porto with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, and other applicable legislation on the protection of personal data;
  2. Issue opinions on requests for authorisation to process personal data;
  3. Issue opinions on contractual conditions applicable to the processing of personal data;
  4. Draw up and maintain a record of all personal data processing activities under the responsibility of the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior de Serviço Social and the Instituto Superior de Serviço Social do Porto;
  5. Monitor the processing of personal data breach notification processes;
  6. Provide support in carrying out impact assessments on the protection of personal data;
  7. Prepare proposals for regulations and other internal rules on personal data protection, including codes of conduct;
  8. Co-operate with the national supervisory authority on personal data protection.
